Metrics

Metrics are the heart of Guarded Releases. They turn raw data into actionable insight, helping teams decide when to continue, pause, or roll back a release. In this course, you’ll learn what metrics are, where they come from, and how they help make every release observable and data-driven.

Objectives:

1. Define what a metric is and explain how it differs from an event.
2. Describe how metrics are used to evaluate release performance in LaunchDarkly.
3. Identify the types of metrics available out of the box and when to create custom ones.
4. Explain the purpose of metric groups and how they support consistency across multiple releases.
